Course objectives

In accordance with the degree goals, as indicated in its SUA-CdS file, this course aims to introduce students to a reflexion on the significance for literature, in particular French and Spanish, of the arrival of digital resources. On the basis of a preliminary analysis of the ontological and rhetorical differences between the printed literary text and the digital literary text, the course will therefore aim to provide students with skills that will help them both to use digital technologies to study literary texts and to understand the specificities of digital literature.

This survey course of Hispanic literature will deploy an inventory of digital tools for the study of the history of Spanish and Latinoamerican literature in parallel to an itinerary on the fundamental works of the several Spanish speaking cultures. Some attention will be paid to contemporary literary works “born digital”.
